I get BYU is not currently in a Go5 conference. But we also are not in a P5 conference.

How pompous and Ute like do some BYU fans have to be to already be thumbing our noses at potential conference mates? Whether we are measurably better or not we don't have a say in who else gets to join. And by publicly degrading every other candidate we certainly would not be making friends and also have the side effect of down grading the B12 for any of these others that will join.

I'm fully on board with pointing out where BYU would rate higher as a defense mechanism if nothing else. And certainly we can tout the value of BYU at every turn (BamaCoug & BYUtoB12.com). But to openly be belittling all others and making statements like I hope they don't go to 14 by adding non-P5's because then the B12 will suck is pretty counter productive to our situation.

Sure some candidates are rinky dink or dumpster fires and should have no chance but honestly if the psychological disadvantage of the B12 is going to go away and one of those teams is picked it will need public perception to be much more positive than what some of us are contributing to.

Even if we have outgrown Go5 and feel we belong in P5 we still came from the mid major world and should at least remember that journey and not forget or turn our nose up so callously.

To be clear, I believe BYU is so much better than so many teams out there but I think an ounce of politeness or respect to other top potential candidates at this time can help the B12 perception once BYU and 1-3 others are added...
