I see this sort of thing at the Wilk often... "body guards", the whole deal
It seems to me there is at least one contracted, higher-end transportation service that BYU uses to transport not just VIPs but more ordinary (but hosted) guests to the school.
It happens often. I wouldn't get too excited about this.
