I think there is a limit to how long waiting to decide benefits the B12
How long is the right amount of time to wait ?

Of course the B12 is slow as tar, but I think they're motivated this time so it is nice that they gave one person (Boren) power to speak for them all. I think the benefits of waiting TO ANNOUNCE have played out.

Why wait 2 weeks? -- *Info on Schools, Politics, Pub Relations, and contract negotiations*

Why announce next week? --

1. They already know who they want.
2. After 2 weeks the story gets boring--Most of us on CB scour the Internet looking for news but ESPN NCAAF hasn't had a decent article for two days.
3. The word has been out for long enough, so everyone has had a chance to put their best foot forward (many already did so long ago).
4. Football season begins soon and this is a major distraction.
5. Other conferences "could" be competing for at least one of the non-P5 teams.
6. 2 weeks allowed time for any social or political conversations to happen--they got their due diligence (you have to keep your friends happy).

7. The one sticking point is contracts. If they can't hammer this out, Itncould prolong things. But they seemed to be able to cobble WVU and TCU contracts quickly enough. So why not this time?

I suppose the other thing is disunity among schools. If they can't come to a decision, it won't happen.

So if they want BYU, could there be a good chance we hear next week?

Any other good reason to wait?

Of course I pulled this out of thin air so, it's worth about how much I paid to type it.
