The coach at Bishop Gorman had this to say about pop
"As strong as can be, so on the defensive end, he’s as good as it gets,” Gorman coach Grant Rice said. “He’s physical on offense. Just really becoming that true leader. He helped lead us to a state championship last year, and we’re excited to have him for his senior year.”

His DEFENSE is why I am so bullish on him. I saw him play recently and three things stood out that made me want him at byu.

1. Athleticism/size
2. Lock down defense.
3. Good passing instincts.

I will admit I thought his release had a little hitch in it and he was predictable on offense.

I think as Big Daddy D has mentioned his right hand needs work.

I really hope he stays 4 years at byu..... He is exactly the kind of guard that can help someone like TJ Haws on defense when emery/Bryant sit or when those two graduate.

I seem to be in the minority on this but I didn't think TJ was a very good defender in HS (which could be because he carried the entire team on O his senior year) but either way have a strong athletic defender will be important to go alongside Haws in the backcourt.
