Are kind of kooky in the show, but it's not really derogatory.

Not sure how I feel about LDS depictions in science fiction. The writers have to be careful given how much we Mormons consume Science Fiction. (I mean when you can't drink or party you have to channel your interests elsewhere).

I never read the books it's based on but apparently the tv show isn't too different
