People act like this is some unfair advantage for BYU. Whether or not it's an advantage for BYU, it's not an unfair advantage since any other school can do the same thing. BYU just lands more Mormons than other schools. Just like U of Texas has an inherent advantage of being located in Texas. It gives them an inherent advantage of landing some of the nations top recruits that happen to be born in Texas. Is it unfair? No, because all other schools can still recruit Texas but UT is just positioned much better than other schools to recruit Texas. Just like BYU is better at recruiting Mormons than any other school.
