Go recruit a kid and tell him to spend two years with game film and a trainer while doing some "cover" volunteer/service. You would have a major advantage as the kid could actually progress in his skills rather than do missionary work. Yeah, with today's instant gratification or I transfer kid....good luck with that. Convince today's parents living vicariously thru there kid to wait as well. For those good enough for next level let them know that first big payday in an additional 2 years out. Coaches only get a year or two to turn things around before they are fired so let's see you go get a blue chip guy and hold him back for 2-3 years.
This argument is like a kid showing up the first day of practice and whining that the other kid practices all summer and he didn't....its available to all. If it was an advantage you better believe some major college football powers would be utilizing the option.
