At previous tailgates I've been to (San Jose St., Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, UNLV) the festivities were free as long as you did not eat there. Those were outdoor activities. The one in Glendale is indoors and I understand from the organizers that it is the cost of rental of facilities and air conditioning that make it necessary to charge everyone that comes whether they eat or not. It's too bad, though, because it's been fun to take the children and feel the spirit of BYU football just prior to the game. I'm coming in a group of 6 and we just can't afford $150 for a tailgate activity, even though it would be exciting for the kids.
