Kylo Ren does not even achieve the level of a two-dimensional comic book character. Honestly, the SNL "Undercover Boss" parody had a more nuanced Kylo Ren than the silly movie. I guess it's the same phenomenon that explains how the minor, even incidental character of an amoral bounty hunter can generate reams of fan fic.
