What I'm wondering is how interchangeable the guard positions are.

Sometimes you have two excellent players, but only one can play the position. For example, a good boundary corner might not have the speed to play field corner, so it's possible a team could have two BCs it feels comfortable with, but not really have a good FC anywhere on the roster.

I don't know enough about the O-line, but my question - whether Kanuch could switch guard positions - is my way of trying to figure out how the coaches feel about the current LG. If RG and LG are easily interchangeable, then I feel better knowing the LG was considered better than Kanuch. But if you can't switch RG and LG, then I'm not as sure how good the new SUU LG is.
