So obvious. 1st rule when forming an alliance is to test the new ally on keeping

confidences.  This is how they prove their 1st level of loyalty. Sign NDAs and see if they tell secrets.

2nd level: throw someone in as a double agent to test their loyalty.

This is why I am confident a pseudo representative of the Pac12 has been in discussions with BYU for the past week or so. I hope BYU recognizes Gordon Gee in disguise because the Pac12 invite is not there for the taking.

3rd level: new ally must undercut a mutual enemy. This is where BYU is getting stuck in a rut. If Tom Holmoe would simply publicly criticize the Big10, Mizzou, A&M, and others (without being too obvious) this would be a lot further along.

Final level: The true signal that BYU is days/hours away from receiving the invite will be if you see Tom writing something in the latest edition of Cosmopolitan magazine. He and Bob Bowlsby must take the loyalty test and compare their compatibility/loyalty quotient.
