I read with interest the post below about the FSU player who ate lunch with a boy with autism and made a difference in the lives of that boy and his family.
Like many of you, I have a soft spot in my heart for stories like this one. Here are a couple others I have learned about over the years:
I challenge all of CougarBoard to find a way to do something that makes a difference to someone who needs it.
If you have school aged kids, you can talk with them (in a FHE, when you're riding with them in the car, etc.) about whether there is someone they know who eats lunch alone, who is considered different or strange by classmates, etc., and how they can include those kids. I think I might show my kids the YouTube video above and then make some family goals.
If you don't have kids, find a way to do something yourself.
Above all, find a way to make a difference. I encourage people to report back with positive stories, not just to highlight the great things your families have done but to share positive experiences to help motivate each other to be better.
