Those that are proclaiming that they "made the cut" are in all likelihood, those that will not be selected. But by getting the info out there that they "made the cut", they can at least tell their fans and boosters that they did everything they could in the process.

Those that are silent are ensuring that they follow the process and protocols that they have been given. While their fanbase might be a little on edge (not that we would know that kind of feeling), they know that ultimately, they are in position to get what they want.
