I get your point but the better analogy may be with BYU itself. Currently,
BYU has contracts with Nike to provide apparel. However, the university also has contracts with other providers such as Addidas and Badger to provide apparel. Furthermore, BYU also has contracts with other providers to provide a variety of different types of merchandise, e.g, watches, ties, etc. My point being that although the B12 may currently have contracts with ESPN and Fox to provide certain kinds of services, there may be other kinds of services that Comcast could provide that ESPN and Fox may not be providing under its current contracts. Who knows, it could even pull a Memphis/FedEx approach and offer to sponsor a title game. In addition, although ESPN and Fox currently provide certain types of services under their current contracts with the B12, those contracts will expire and will open the door for Comcast to provide those services. Comcast may even decide to pay for an option right for that event. A lot of options exist for companies with deep pockets.
