meaningless G5 conference championship was not the thing that motivated my fandom before independence, and it certainly wouldn't now. I'm just fascinated by the strategy and general miraculousness of the game, win or lose. Obviously, I'd prefer to win, but I've had just as much fun watching this team as many of the "championship" teams in decades past.

And there is always the bowl game.
