Maybe they are tired of being the Iowa St. of the Pac-12.

Iowa St. plays their instate rival every year, but they don't play other teams from major conferences in their nonconference schedule (most of the time). I sense the concern from Utah fans that they don't want to play a BYU-MWC-FCS nonconference schedule every single year.
