As I was driving to work DJ and PK were discussing who should visit gameday for Utah.
Someone texted that Utah doesn't really have super prominent sports figures to represent them the way BYU does. They called on John Stockton last year. But let's be honest. He's just a loved figure by both schools, not really a die hard Ute.

Of course they have the prophet and some apostles, but they also support BYU and they aren't sports figures.

People think Utah sports they think of Karl and Stockton. After that you get Young, Detmer, Lavell, Ainge, McMahon, Jimmer. Who else? (I would say Chad Lewis, but I think he's more of a local legend)These are sports figures that have left their names in the history books. DJ and PK suggested Urban Meyer, but he has a game to coach and it isn't at Utah.

I guess I'll give Utah credit for Smith, Bogut, and Miller, but they just aren't what I would call icons.

Needless to say, I think picking awesome guests for gameday would be much less of a task in Provo. We could call on some pretty incredible sports figures to rep the Y.
