D-line's assignment was basically to eat up space and create gaps for the linebackers. It was great for LB's but not denfensive lineman and we lost the recruiting battles to schools like Utah whose schemes generated more pass rush and put lineman in the NFL. That should change a lot under the new coaching staff and I imagine D-line recruiting will improve significantly.
