...and it was after both his first and second year. He was supposed to be ripping our defense to shreds and be impossible to tackle yet when he got in games (other than one big play vs Wagner?) he was frequently tackled from behind by DL's before he could cross the LOS.

Hifo was hyped to be the next Reno Mahe and maybe he still will be that someday but there was nothing about his freshman year to get excited about (mostly wondered why he was on the field taking reps from better more experienced and productive players). He had 11 catches and avg 5.3 ypc (we had RB's avg better than that rushing the ball) and his success rate was 2nd lowest on the team. Also, he was very mediocre as a KR and routinely failed to even reach the 25 yd line. With most of his returns we'd have been better off if he just let the ball bounce through the end zone.

I hope he does eventually deliver on the hype. Based off of his lack of production as a freshman I don't see it.
