The sequel, 2010 was an excellent movie. It routinely gets overlooked because
everyone that is bored with 2001, never went to see 2010; and those that loved 2001's artsy-fartsy pacing didn't enjoy 2010's more traditional pacing.
You should give 2010 a try. The ending is great with an awesome message.
I've never made it through 2001 either.....I own it though, so I ought to give it another try. hahaha.
