From a ref that has done a lot of games.
I would try to talk to him before or after the game just by yourself.

From my experience I would never hold anything from game to game from a coach, player, or fans-parents.

But at the same time refs are human and do make mistakes just like coaches and players. That is the biggest thing I think people forget or don't understand.

Also I would tell the players and coaches we officiate the rules here and not like at the Delta Center. People expect to have the same rules they see on TV and they are very different especially at that age group.

The other thing to remember is that at that age no matter the skill if officials called he games exactly the way the rules are, just about every time down the court I would have to blow my whistle. As I know that won't make me or anyone else happy I don't. But sometimes the coaches and players get frustrated.

Also each official like it or not is different and will call certain things closer than others. I was always a bigger kid and played center. So I allow more in the paint in regards to physical ply than others. Why I hated if a ref was ticky tacky on me.

Also if you have a proble during a game when there is a stoppage then ask him to watch what you feel he is missing. Don't say to him you are missing this, just can you please watch they are coming over the back of my players or whatever it is.

Hope you can work this out. If he is that level of HS you will have to deal with him for a long time.
