yeah no I don't think so. Depends on the physician.
the truth is that the production bonuses are usually worked in so that its very beneficial to produce. That's how the hospitals make bank as well. So the contract structure stimulates desire to be busy.

Now, most contracts are on RVU basis which means you get paid more for more RVU's

That being said, sicker and higher demanding patients are definitely a drag on production, so yes, if you are sicker your doc may not want you coming in.
