No he wasn't, and before Bronco, BYU still benefited from
the Glory days, Utah was still in the MWC and they were still our little brother and Lavell and his legacy wasn't too far from when Bronco started. Again, Bronco may have gone after big recruits but the only big ones he was able to close in his first couple years were already on the table as commits or also had family they wanted to play with. Bronco didn't add any recruiting value his first couple years.

Contrary to what you say, Bronco's inability to get recruits to the NFL over his long tenure has greatly impacted recruiting prospects at BYU, has tarnished our reputation in regards to talent (and talent development) and therefore left Kalani in a much worse position recruiting wise than when Bronco entered the helm at HC. Bronco didn't have to deal with that and like I said before we had a much easier battle with Utah as our little brother and not in the Pac-12.
