Tramel opines that the Big 12 schools are losing the recruiting battle. In 2010, Big 12 schools recruited 41 of the top 50 Texas recruits; this year they only landed 19.

He adds that the recruiting woes, more than anything, will hasten the breakup of the conference.

The conference is inexorably going down the same path traveled by the old Big East.
