Just 2 questions: Is there someone on this board who watches (often) basketball
practice? I would like to know Rose's demeanor during practice - does he ever yell at his players or get in their faces? It seems to me, based on the comments on this board, that the players continue to make very fundamental errors with little sign of improvement. I quit watching BYU church ball in November because I was so disgusted with many basic mistakes, it was too painful to watch. No discipline whatsoever.
As I consider many of the local coaches over the last 20 years who have usually had teams that showed discipline, toughness, hard nosed defensively, structured offense, etc., etc., the coaches appeared to as the types who would yell at their players (especially in practice) to teach and make a point: some of these are: Frank Arnold, Roger Reid, Majerus (spare me the towel comments), Eustacy, Stew Morrill to name a few. As much as I dislike Krskowiak, I think he is a pretty good coach and I envision him being a tyrant in practice. I am not an advocate of berating a player, but the coaches I have known who are great teachers have also been passionate and intense during practice who sometimes scream, or get in a players face to make a point.
Does Rose ever do this? Or are BYU's players just dumb when it comes to passing and shot selection and can't learn? Finally, a good defensive team is that because of coaching, no doubt in my mind about that. Our lousy defensive production is 100 percent on Rose in my opinion, but would like to know how he teaches in practice, if anyone knows...?
