Wooden could influence behavior without yelling. It's not working for Rose
What ever approach Rose is using this year, it's not working. Yelling doesn't mean you're a good or bad coach. Each coach has their own unique style. Just because Wooden did it a certain way doesn't mean that coaching style works for every team. Read any organizational behavior book and it will tell you that people respond differently to certain stimuli. It's the gold medal vs pittbull mentality in terms of motivating people around you. Clearly Rose's current coaching style is not influencing this team to stop making the same fundamental mistakes they continue to make. Yelling could work. It might not. But to dismiss it simply because Wooden didn't have to yell is a bit juvenile.
