you need to understand the rules in China related to their foreign players... they can only have 2 'imported' players
per team. A team can only play ONE of the imported players at any time during the 1st and 4th quarters of the game (and during OT). During the 2nd and 3rd quarter obviously, you can play BOTH of them.

So, what happens is that the imported players tend to split time, if a guy is hot, they leave him in the 1st, but give the 4th to the other guy. in the case of the actual league scoring leader, who they played on Friday night, he plays nearly the full game. Baptista the other guy is an enforcer like forward who sits in the lane and gets his points pushing people around and making easy layups and half dunks.

The guy on the Sharks who makes up the other half of the import DUO is a young 19-year old kid from France who we all call "G" for short. He's got a good shot, works the baseline well, rebounds well, and is strong in the paint. He was drafted by Boston #16 in the 2016 draft. But they had a solid core and sent him to China for development this year, he's expected to be with the Celtics next season.

But what that normally means for Jimmer is he's splitting time with this kid, and spends at least 12 minutes on the bench. The other thing that makes his 36 ppg average better than you think is that the Sharks have to local wannabees who can handle the ball, but can't shoot a contested shot to save their lives. Also, ball control in the CBA is horrendous. They have they guys that are all 6'10 to 7'6 playing ball, but they can't move, they barely jump, and they can't catch an easy dump off or pass to the paint to save their lives.

So, to get 73 last night would have been something to see. The kids must have been off , the ball hogs at the other guard position must have been told to get it to Jimmer, because in the games I've watched the LIU Shaoyu (10) guy is a ball hog who fires up shots all over and misses most.
