Best explanation that was stated during the show but not the trial was that
Fuhrman would have had to know OJ didn't have an alibi or wasn't traveling somewhere in order to even think about planting the evidence. He couldn't have known that at the time, so why would he plant evidence when he'd be in jail forever if OJ happened to have a solid alibi?
