The frustrating part of this basketball season is the crazy inconsistency of each player. Now, we all know about the youth and hopefully next year the guys can find consistency. All of our current starters have shown the ability to dominate a game and be a star at some point this year; this was Bryant's first breakout game where he dominated.
Yes, BYU needs to fill some gaps. But, if Haws, Emery, Bryant, Childs and Mika can just all bring it together on the same nights, this core can be a great team. The scheme is not the problem. The issue is that many nights there are several guys who are just really bad. Last night it was Haws but most everyone else was good. In the bad losses, it was usually everyone but Mika that was terrible that night.
It was nice to see Bryant show an explosive game and also smart decisions on offense. A little bit heavy on individual 1 on 1 play, but not wild drives where he draws charges. And it was really nice to see him finally hit open 3s. Shows great potential for what can be.
