I also do not think that there is a blanket approach that is best in all cases.

I'm skeptical that redshirting Dastrup will have proven to be the best move. If you base it off of the actual productivity on the court this year, versus what he might have accomplished with the full year of practice, strength, and conditioning, it is not a very high bar to clear.

If you're going to base the opinion off of assumptions or guesses about impact on his mental state, that's pretty tough to know. Payton may not even grasp that at this point.

I hope this did prove to be the right move and that Dastrup develops the terrific talent we see in him as an effective stretch 4 for the next 3 years.

The first year has been tough, and I don't necessarily pin that on Dastrup. Love his enthusiasm and I'm excited about his skill set. Looking forward to watching them next season with the full year+ of experience and conditioning under his belt.
