Isolated hip pain isn't necessarily a great reason for rheumatology referral
Is she doing something to aggravate the pain? Exercise? Old injuries? Is there daily pain? Any other joints painful or swollen? Any X-rays or more involved physical exam findings?
There is a lot of work to be done before a rheumatologist is consulted.
