Last night was the first time the individual talent translated into team success
I'll start by saying that BYU played far from a perfect game and still won. TJ made several poor decisions resulting in turnovers, Nick was out of control in the first half, the stage was too big for Shaw, Yoeli was in foul trouble the entire game, and BYU missed a bunch of FTs.

But the team overcame because they finally stopped trying to be individual heroes.
-Gonzaga couldn't pressure TJ down the stretch because his handle was too good and he was blowing by defenders.
-Nick focused on playing D and became a spot up shooter in the 2nd half.
-Eli played under control, used his size to beat smaller defenders, and mostly only shot spot up open jumpers.
-Mika recognized who was defending him and adjusted his approach to take advantage of the defender. His combo of size, strength, and athleticism is rare in CBB.

It was really nice to finally see the individual talent in these guys be applied in a team setting.
