Reading Pat Forde's article on Zags loss to us being good got me thinking..
First and foremost, our win over them was accomplished in epic fashion and was an instant BYU Basketball classic. I wouldn't change getting the win for a thing (other than a NC but that's another thing all together).

Most of us here know basketball is just as much a psychological game as it is a physical game, if not more so, and that's obviously what Forde's article was heavily based on.

It made me wonder though what effect that game will have on the Cougs throughout the rest of the season. This BYU squad is as unpredictable as any team in college basketball this year, so I think it's super hard to say, and that's why they play the game on the court and not on paper..

I agree with Forde that Gonzaga got a monkey off their back having a loss before the NCAA tourney, and they'll be able to relax quite a bit going forward. It makes me wonder if BYU had lost, and the Zags still had that pressure on them if we would have a better chance of beating them in the tourney assuming we play them.

I think the win obviously gave the Cougs some great confidence, but I think it'll also bring out a tougher game from Gonzaga knowing we just doused their undefeated season.

Sorry the post just ended up being more of thinking out loud than anything, but what are your guys thoughts on how BYU will be effected in their own right going into the tournament?
