I find it hard to believe that Coach Rose hasn't been trying to do this.
I have no inside info about the dynamics of our coaches/players. But, I think it is very likely that some blame can go to the players and the coaches. Does Rose fail to "control" them or teach them when he fails to sub them out or bench them for poor play? Probably. Do the players fail to respond to coaching when they ignore or get distracted from the game plan? Probably. Do both coaches and players sometimes try there best and still come up short? Probably.

Frankly, Rose was likely in a tough spot this season. When Emery or Hozz go shot hunting and stop playing team ball, or when they play bad defense, etc., Rose might be wise to take them out and teach. BUT, if he does, who does he put in? It will be someone who, for that game at least, probably hurts the chances at winning that night. That's a tough call as a coach, and I am glad I don't have to choose between losing now to win later or win now and lose later. Yes, this is an oversimplification, but he's making some non-obvious tough choices. They are freshmen/sophomores, but they could be freshmen/sophomores that are not responding well to coaching. That's at least as likely to me, if not more likely than a pure, flat-out coaching failure where Rose is just not doing his part.
