Just take a look at the demographic that is driving the pit bull craze and you will see the real issue. It is mostly irresponsible young " tough guys" who have no idea what raising an animal involves. If you outlaw pitbulls the breeding and handling of them will not only go underground but you will start to see a bigger issue with other breeds like rottweilers and dobermans. Having worked with dogs extensively that scares me. Pitbulls get all the bad rap but if handled by the wrong individual a german sheperd or rottweiler is far more powerful and dangerous. The solution to this is to simply enforce federal and state breeding laws that already exist.
