I believe that sometimes people miraculously are spared and sometimes people miraculously die. I have multiple first hand accounts of both happening and to people who are both Mormon and not Mormon. Do I have an opinion about a tree falling and killing someone I don't know? Absolutely not. That being said, the comment made about it being their time to go is something I hear people say to soften the blow to a family member or friend. It's tongue in cheek and I think it's a little harsh to say that it's "Messed up." Just my opinion. This mentality is not exclusive to Mormons at all. Staunch atheists have a huge problem with it however. Oh well. To each his own.
