but they killed us in the middle and we couldn't get anything going. Our blocking was awful and we were getting no attack from the middle.
The kid who interfered with play, when she reached out onto the court to catch a ball, also likely cost us a game....we were on a roll, would have gotten the point, instead, it was replayed and they got the point, changed the momentum, and we lose the game.
That's not the reason we lost the match....just saying, it was not helpful at a very critical time, when we were starting to get some momentum.
Also, Tillie is one of the dudes on OSU who had a great match...his brother is 7th or 8th man for Gonzaga hoops.
I don't disagree about the head case issue...I think we still have some of that, but we were just outclassed. I also don't think improving skills is a zero sum game. Our improving on serves does not mean we also aren't working on serve receive, which I am sure we are.
Serve receive was THE issue though, in that match, followed closely by lack of offense from our middles.
I drove 4+hours with my three kids to see that match. It was an epic letdown.
