We arrived at about 12:30 pm. It was a great day. There was a nice crowd. We were there with our daughter's family. Our oldest grandson of her two children (age five) had a blast. We got pictures of him with Cosmo, had him put on pads with a BYU uniform and helmet for pictures, bought lots of BYU apparel and items for sale, got autographs from coaches and players, and had an all out great time. It was fun watching the staff and players interact with the fans. The inviting/loving spirit of Sitake is infectious. He was hugging everyone before an autograph or picture. I told Sitake that my wife and I were celebrating our 34 wedding anniversary by attending Fanfest - he was impressed (ha). I asked Ty if he remembered taking a picture with us at the Texas game in Austin three years ago and if he remembered our conversation about the TV series "Friday Night Lights" (yes, I was joking). Ty, like Sitake, is warm, friendly, inviting, and as nice as can be. The players were the same way.

The event was well done. So much fun! Got us very excited for football season to get here. I told Sitake my wife and I had attended every game last season but for the Utah game. He looked at me and said: "Now I know why we lost that game!" Our grandson had a blast. We spent a lot of money, too, buying stuff we really don't need. But, I didn't care. It is our anniversary and we were there to celebrate the best way we know how.

Sitake and his staff have brought so much positive energy into the program. Just before we got to Coach Sitake for pictures, a kid (I'm assuming a potential recruit) was introduced to him by Coach Clark. The kid was big, was there with his dad and little brother. Sitake just loved them up like family. It was fun to watch up close.

All in all a great time. I love what BYU is doing to promote the football program.
