Someone a few weeks ago was asking for tips on breaking in a new baseball glove.
I just bought my son a new glove and thought I'd share what we have been doing to break it in.

It takes a lot more work than what is simply shown in the video. We spent a couple hours massaging, pounding, and playing catch with the glove. And we'll do it some more today. It is really important that once you pour water into the hand slot, only the person using the glove should wear it. It helps create a custom form to their hand.

Shigeaki Aso has been a glove designer for Wilson for over 40 years. Here are a couple other youtube videos of him breaking in gloves.

One last thing. I don't remember if anyone advised to put a glove in the oven or microwave, but that is a somewhat common tip that people give. DON'T DO THAT! It's not needed, and it weakens the threading. Also, if you want to use a leather conditioner to break it in, or for glove longevity, you don't want to use too much.
