I would lean this way too. Picking a guy who was unstoppable on offense with the
Hook makes sense....it couldnt be defended then and wouldnt be able to now I dont think. 6 time NBA league MVP. 17000 rebounds. At age 38, when most guys are retired, he was MVP of the Finals. And it didn't matter whether 25 or 35 years old the guy scored with that shot without requiring great or even good hops, athletic quickness, or strength. 74% foul shooting for a 7'2 big man is also very strong, didnt have to worry about him getting fouled and clunking 2 FT.

Getting that for 20 years would be tough to turn down.

He shot better from the FT than Shaq, a LOT. He averaged a full assist more per game. He averaged more rebounds per game. I think Kareems game transcended many eras of hoops, and dont think Shaq would have been as dominant if he played in a finesse era versus the era he did that allowed a lot more physical play IMO.
