My dad's birthday is coming up and he asked for a DVR. He has TV service through Dish, but he doesn't have DVR service with them. On his "wish list" he mentioned Tivo. I'm thinking he wants something he can use no matter which provider he has. He's in his 70s with poor vision, so I think he does need something user friendly. I'm not sure he realizes that Tivo has a monthly subscription attached to it, but I don't know how much that is.

Any advice CB?
