Back in 1984 we were on the way to a national championship and we were playing Utah State and were well ahead.

For some crazy reason the refs went nuts on the penalties in the 2nd half. For example we had driven down to about the 20 and had actually scored three times all called back and it was third and 68 after a ludicrous offensive pass interference.

The fans spontaneously started waving anything yellow they could find-- napkins blankets ponchos, whatever, laughing derisively. Cougar stadium was like a sea of pee.

The refs ate their whistles the rest of the game, it was awesome.
