I'm saying that America is a huge place with a wide variety of transportation
needs. That, coupled with the fact that tons of people love cars and love to drive (not to mention motorcyclists) that it's going to be a huge fight to get anywhere near standardization in less than 10 years. The American road represents freedom to many Americans and they won't give it up easily. It is likely to be more easily standardized in a highly urbanized area where mass transit is already in place.
