a conference championship with an RM QB till Doman?

I'd say for QB's, sitting for a RS year, FR year, and then maybe starting as a Soph with 3 years to play is ideal.

Sitting out for 2 years, then having the 2 years in the program, then 2-3 to play which Detmer definitely wants the QB's to be in for a year or two before getting starts...

I don't think it's a career breaker, but I wouldn't think it would be a great help as a QB to take a few years off the game.

OL / DL etc I can see, a few years to fully grow into your body etc..

Outside of spiritual growth and mental maturity and lineman, I'd say most of the time it's either a wash, or a detriment.
