Although there are a lot of Utah-haters on CB, the development of rugby (high school and collegiate) in Utah has actually been relatively collaborative. I'm not in a position to know, but it seems to me that players and coaches have a good relationship. I'd be surprised if Utah was a "no" vote. Air Force has always been a great opponent for us. The cadets love a challenge.
The former WY coach (Rich Cortez, who is now an administrator with USA Rugby over collegiate programs) does not like BYU. I'm not sure about all the details, but we hurt them pretty bad in Provo about 20 years ago, and the game ended up in a fight. It was not pretty. Wyoming has little reason to play us. We will beat them by 50 every time with our B side.
To be honest, we'll beat every team in this conference without any problem most years. It just doesn't feel right to not have a conference.
Collegiate rugby is a mess right now.
