Top position battles heading into fall camp
I figured I would pre-empt all the BYU beat writers by giving the list of top position battles heading into fall camp.

1. Running Back: the depth chart released by BYU on Media Day did not list a starter implying all candidates are still in the mix for the starting position; the coaches are really high on Ula Tolutau, but it remains to be seen what type of workload his body can handle as he came back from his mission with some added eL-Bees; my projection is the starter in game one is Squallly Canada as he showed really well at times last season

2. Right Tackle: many people assumed the highly-recruited Kieffer Longson would be the starter as Austin Hoyt suffered a bit of a sophomore slump last year; however, they are listed as co-starters in the latest depth chart; my projection is the coaches err on the side of potential with this one, and Kieffer starts game one

3. Free Safety: Matt Hadley returns with the most experience, yet you have one of the most highly-recruited Safety recruits ever at BYU in Chaz Ah You; at the end of the day I think you see Zayne Anderson as he has two seasons under his belt at BYU and has very good athleticism

4. MLB backup: while Butch Pau'u is the clear starter there are a ton of guys vying for the backup spot; you have recently-returned missionaries Will Sedgwick, Jeremiah Ieremia, and Christian Folau in addition to returners Johnny Tapusoa, Adam Pulsipher, and Phillip Amone; Will Sedgwick returned recently and has had time to get in shape and learn the playbook, and I predict he will back up Butch Pau'u
