Putting pressure on the other team to make mistakes can often lead to lethal...
...mistakes from your own team because of ratcheting up the difficulty level.

Think of soccer and the "park the bus/counterstrike strategy" -- it has been proven to be EXTREMELY effective (think Iceland).

I'm not necessarily saying I agree with it, but it's a proven and legit strategy to hide weaknesses and emphasize strengths.
