I'm sure there was a great deal of bitterness with McMahon on how his time at BYU ended and fans were hurt for a while at his public comments about BYU and Utah. But once the dust settles and the anger subsides, all you have left is the love. McMahon also had a lot of former players like Vai Sikahema reaching out to him and inviting him out to BYU events. I believe it was the 2010 season opener where he got to carry out the flag and was met with a huge round of applause which was a huge turning point in that "healing" process.
