5 things I believe will happen this year
1. BYU will pass a lot. Ty has said so, Kalani has said so. How much? Ty said he would like to have us about 60% of the time, and that number would be higher he says, but there will be several games where we will need to run it in the fourth quarter to control clock. Whatever doubts you may have about this, trust that what the coaches say is accurate. We will be a throwing team this year and we will throw a lot more than last year. We aren't talking about Washington State level passing attempts. But we will be a passing team next year.

Look at it this way, with the decreased return in rushing this year if Tanner passes for for only the per game average that Taysom did we may not be bowl eligible even with this schedule.

2. Tanner is going to have a great year. He will be this first BYU qb to be over a 145 qb rating on the year since Max Hall and if he does that against this schedule even as an average BYU wins 10-12 games, especially with our defense. Whatever Tanner was dealing with last year is past. He is in the best shape of his life today. Gut watch is gone. He is strong and in great shape. And knows the offense. He is the first BYU qb to go through the summer as the presumed starter, get all the summer reps and work outs in and then play without injury (that's at least me projecting) in I can't even tell how long. Hall? This will pay huge dividends for us.

3. BYU will have a huge increase in sacks this year. We had 28 last year but this defensive system is built for pressure and sacks and a lot of them. We have the talent and the bodies this year to make that number jump. We are young there but extremely talented and deep. We need one or two guys to separate themselves from the pack on the inside but we have the talent and the bodies to make that happen.

Consequently our corners will look even better this year with that pressure.

4. This will be the best year for tight ends since 09. Balderee is a better option than we credited him for being last year. And MLP and Bushman are potential game changers. Yes, either green to the position or to college but it's not going to take long for them to fly. I don't expect Pitta/ George (yet). But it will be a massive step forward

5. Because our offensive line is better today than in almost a decade our running backs will catch more balls than they have since 2010.
