"Would the 1874 team beat the 1996 team" or "Who is the greatest of all time?" or "Rank the top players in any position over the decades"

These comparisons only end up creating an unwinnable debate. Stats can be used, but are meaningless in the context of different eras of play. Dominance can be used- but then there is the comparisons of the opponents, etc.

At the end of the day-- WHO CARES what either of them think--- it is a list of players that ANY of us are proud to say they played for BYU and should not be diminished.
